First Human Hacking Confrence

The first social engineering conference has happened.

While Chris Hadnagy (CEO of Social-Engineer, LLC) is far from the inventor of this art, he was the first to monetize on the actual selling of information about the art (that I am aware of). Typically, you can catch Chris at Defcon running the SE Village. They finally created their conference, though. I think that this is incredibly badass.

Given that many companies put millions into information technology, and still neglect to train the secretary correctly and as a result in some cases pay for it dearly it's good to see that this subject is being taken to the next level and given the attention that it deserves.

Tracks of the con are explained here.

Very cool! I used to enjoy watching the videos of SE panels from Defcon on YouTube. I remember one where one panelist was social engineering a hotel chain, and other panelists would talk while he was on hold. He eventually got the hotel to admit that they had bedbugs even though they don't, and got them to agree to let him come over and exterminate them.
